Privacy Policy
The short version
Stock Resonance doesn't have accounts, doesn't run analytics or tracking scripts, and stores your session preferences only in your own browser. The only personal data that exists at all is your email address, held by our payment processor if you buy Pro — we never see your card details, and we don't have a database of user profiles.
What we store on your device
Your preset choice, duration, volume levels, and toggle settings (notifications, wake lock, interval bell) are saved in your browser'slocalStorage. This data:
- Never leaves your device or gets sent to any server
- Is cleared if you clear your browser's site data
- Is not synced across devices (a Pro feature we may add — this section will be updated if so)
Notifications
If you enable end-of-session notifications, we ask your browser for permission via the standard Notification API. This permission and the notifications themselves are handled entirely by your browser/OS — we don't receive any data as a result of you enabling this.
Payments (Pro / lifetime purchases)
Purchases are handled by Polar.sh, who act as merchant of record. When you buy Pro:
- Your email and payment details are collected and processed by Polar.sh, under their own privacy policy: polar.sh/legal/privacy-policy.
- We receive your email address and purchase status (active/expired) so the App can verify your Pro access and let you restore it on a new device.
- We do not receive or store your card number, and we don't sell or share your email with anyone else.
Third-party requests made by the App
Loading the App's fonts (Space Grotesk, IBM Plex Mono, IBM Plex Sans) currently requests them from Google Fonts' servers, which — like any web request — exposes your IP address to Google as the request is made. We don't use Google Fonts' tracking/analytics features and no cookies are set by this request, but for analyzing the performance of the app we may use google analytics and other third party analytical tools which do not track individual users but how the app behaves.
What we don't do
- No advertising or ad networks
- No cookies for tracking purposes
- No selling or sharing of any data with third parties beyond what's needed to process a payment
Your rights
Since we hold so little data, most requests are simple: emailinfo@stockresonance.com and we'll act on it. Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export the (minimal) data we hold about you, or to object to its processing. For anything tied to a purchase, we may also need to loop in Polar.sh since they hold the underlying payment record.
Children's privacy
Stock Resonance is not directed at children under 13 (or the relevant age in your region), and we don't knowingly collect data from them.
Changes to this policy
We'll update the date above when this policy changes. Material changes (e.g. adding analytics) will also get a note in the Journal.
